Terry Dean Campbell born on October 27, 1940 took his Final Retirement on March 21, 2014 to join his mother Aunita Campbell and father Russell Campbell in a far better place then here on earth.
He regretted leaving his loving wife, Regina (Thimmes) Campbell; and his children, Dawn (Steve) and Shawn along with his grandchildren, Richard, Hope, and Hunter. He also leaves behind siblings, Gary (Marilyn), Sharon, Barb, Bev (Wayne); and his children’s mother, Linda (Tom).
While he was here he accomplished many tasks set before him, like serving in the U.S. Navy as an FT1 E5 from 11-24-1957 to 12-12-1977, and serving in the U.S. Army as a Helicopter Aviator W2 from 2-19-1978 to 11-23-1984. That in itself would be more than most, but he added duty as a Deputy Sheriff in Athens County, Aviation Mechanic at North American, Purchasing Buyer for Diamond Power, and Purchasing Manager at Artromick. In his spare time he also managed to squeeze in 2 or 3 diplomas. Did we forget to mention in his civilian life that he was a pilot and flight instructor of multiple types of aircraft and helicopters, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
It goes without saying that not only was he very loved, but he will be missed more than words can express. We relinquish him to Jesus’ hands for safe keeping until we get to join him in our final retirement.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday March 27, 2014 at the New Life Christian Center with Pastor Gary Keller officiating. Interment will be in Carroll Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME.
