Clarence Belle

1 SGT Clarence Belle

Troopers, it is with the greatest sadness that I must report the passing of First Sergeant Clarence Belle, last Sunday, 02 FEB 2020, following an extended illness. 1SG Belle was the last 1SG of Co N, 4th Squadron, 107th ACR and the very first 1SG of Co D, 1-137th AVN. 1SG Belle, a Vietnam Veteran, was an original member of Senior NCO Cadre of the 4th Squadron, 107th ACR (with CSM Jimmie Burkes, 1SG “Piggy” Johnson and 1SG John Henry, just to name a few). It was their leadership which made the 4th Squadron, one of the finest Air Cavalry Squadrons in the entire US Army! His leadership, friendship and sense of humor (and culinary skills) will be sorely missed by all who had the distinct honor to serve with him. According to his brother, 1SG Belle has been cremated and a service is planned for this Spring at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Additional info will be provided as it made available. Godspeed 1SG Belle, until we meet again on Fiddlers’ Green. by: Herman Valentine
